September 1, 2011 - The Board of Directors of FirstHealth of the Carolinas announced the selection of David J. Kilarski as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of FirstHealth of the Carolinas beginning November 1, 2011.

Mr. Kilarski has more than 20 years experience as a health executive, which includes leadership roles in community hospitals, academic medical centers and multi-hospital systems. Currently he is president and CEO for South Pointe Hospital in Warrensville Heights and Marymount Hospital and Marymount Health Care Systems in Garfield Heights, which are health system hospitals in Ohio within the Cleveland Clinic Health System.

Mr. Kilarski was instrumental in leading two Cleveland Clinic hospitals to achieve national recognition in his role as president and CEO. Mr. Kilarski earned a Master of Science from Ohio State University and Bachelor's Degree from the University of Illinois. He is a Fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives. His career began at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.

On November 1st, Mr. Kilarski will succeed current FirstHealth of the Carolinas CEO, Mr. Charles T. Frock, who is retiring.
